Welcome to the home page
of the Cabeiri Knights of Merentha. We are a guild that exists in
the world called Merentha, which is a MUD (Multi User Dungeon).
This section of the home page is dedicated to those that want to learn
more about the Knights of Cabeiri and especially for those considering
joining the Knights. Some questions about the guild have been
answered below.
What do the Knights do?
We as a guild, work towards two main goals:
1) Having fun
2) Helping newbies
Primarily we are a group of friends and we help each other when we can and
we have fun in Merentha. The Knighthood is like a family - we are
loyal and trustworthy and honour and respect each and every other Knight.
Secondarily, we devote much of our time to helping newcomers to Merentha.
This could be answering questions on newbie, mid or class lines, or
sitting in Cabeiri Square and helping show newbies around. We refuse
to feed a newbie with both information as well as items, instead we prefer
to show them how to think and get things for themselves. We are a
very peaceful guild and violence is the one sole thing we are strict about
in the guild. A knight should never shed blood or aid in the
shedding of blood.
What sort of things does
CK look for in a Knight?
Above all we look for friendliness in a possible Knight. This
would help the Knight to get along with all the other Knights as well as
enable them to get along well with newbies. A Knight needs to be
patience too as sometimes the work we do can become very tedious and
repetitive. A Knight must be peaceful, by every definition. A
Knight will need to have a wide knowledge of Merentha. This includes
realms, monsters and items and especially Cabeiri as this is probably
where you would be spending most of your time. A Knight should also
be a helpful and courteous member of the Merentha community even before
joining the Knighthood - this means helping newbies even when you're not a
Knight.
What level do I need to
be to join the Knights?
There are no entry level restrictions for any guild. Although,
your level and age is a reflection of your knowledge of the game. To
help others to play the game you need to know the game yourself.
Generally, higher level players are assumed to know more of Merentha than
very low level players and if you are a very low level player you will
need to show us that you have the knowledge to be able to help other
players.
How do I join the
Knights?
You will need to first contact a Knight. To see if there are any
Knights on type <who cabeiriknights>. If not, type <help guilds> and
send a mudmail to the guild leader. Introduce yourself to as many
Knights as you can and show your interest, this will help your chances of
getting the thumbs up from them. There is also a quest that you will
need to complete before being initiated into the Knights.
So, what rules do
Knights have to follow?
There is only one concrete set of rules in CK and they are regarding
PK. Generally, without regurgitating the entire PK Policy (which
actually isn't so long I suppose) Knights do not ever kill or aid in
killing any other player except under very special circumstances.
Few Knights have ever found the need to break this rule and nearly all
that did found that they were not suited to CK. Punishment is
usually what the Council decides on with the particular case but it is
likely to be demotion or banishment.
To Knights: I
need some more questions, and I'd like some of you to send me a little
paragraph answering the first question -- Cab Knights is different for
each of us and I don't think just having my definition of CK is quite
enough. If some of you could do that it'd be wonderful =) If
some of you have something to add to any of the other answers PLEASE TELL
MEEE!
